Fiber Termination and Connection
A fiber distribution project takes incoming fiber and prepares it for the next network connection. The typical path is fiber termination, connectorization, and connection to the downstream equipment interface.
Fiber Termination
Where incoming fiber is bare, it needs a connectorized termination before it can be connected to the network.
The pigtail has a factory-terminated connector on one end, while the bare-fiber end is used for fusion splicing.
Fiber Connection
After termination, the fiber needs a connector to establish the optical and mechanical interface.
Provides the connection interface between the terminated fiber and the mating side.
Connector Alignment
The mating connector ends need a fixed interface to stay aligned during connection.
Holds and aligns the mating connectors at the distribution or equipment interface.
Common Installation Areas
Telecom Distribution Points
Incoming fiber is terminated before continuing to the downstream network.
Equipment Rooms
Terminated fiber is connected to network equipment through organized fiber interfaces.
Access Network Nodes
Incoming and downstream fiber paths meet at a defined termination and connection point.
Patching Areas
Connector interfaces provide accessible points for connection and maintenance.
