Description

Dimi Single Mode Fiber Optic Pigtail is a factory-terminated optical fiber assembly with a connectorized end and a bare-fiber end for fusion splicing. It is designed for permanent fiber termination.

The pigtail is available with G.652D, G.657A1, or G.657A2 single mode fiber and can be supplied with SC, LC, FC, ST, E2000, and other connector configurations. Connector polishing, fiber diameter, cable length, jacket material, and labeling can be specified for different network and installation requirements.

Connector & Fiber Configuration

The connectorized end is selected according to the adapter, patch panel, or optical equipment used in the customer's network. Available configurations include:

SC/UPC and SC/APC for conventional distribution and access networks.

LC/UPC and LC/APC for high-density patching and compact equipment.

FC/UPC and FC/APC for applications requiring a threaded connector interface.

ST and E2000 for specified legacy or project-specific systems.

UPC and APC are not interchangeable polishing options. APC provides a lower back-reflection level and is commonly selected for systems where return loss is particularly important.

For the fiber side, G.652D is suitable for general single-mode transmission, while G.657A1/A2 can be selected where improved bend performance is required. The 0.9 mm simplex structure is suitable for compact routing and individual fusion-splicing applications.

Applications

Dimi Single Mode Fiber Optic Pigtails are used where a permanent fusion-spliced fiber connection is required, including:

ODF and fiber distribution frames for fiber termination and patching.

Fiber splice closures for organizing and terminating incoming and outgoing fibers.

FTTH/FTTx distribution systems for subscriber-side and access-network fiber management.

Fiber terminal boxes and wall-mounted boxes where compact fiber routing is required.

Data centers and enterprise networks for high-density single-mode fiber termination.

CATV and telecommunications networks requiring stable optical connections.

Network repair and expansion projects where existing fibers need to be terminated or re-terminated.

The bare-fiber end is fusion-spliced to the incoming optical fiber, while the connectorized end is installed into the corresponding adapter or equipment port.

Customization & OEM

OEM production is available when a project requires non-standard assembly or identification requirements.

Depending on the application, production specifications can include custom pigtail lengths, connector combinations, fiber count, jacket color, labeling, connector brand, packaging format, and customer-defined inspection requirements.

For OEM orders, the required fiber standard, connector configuration, polishing type, dimensional tolerances, optical performance criteria, labeling, and packaging should be confirmed against the customer's drawing, specification, or purchase order before production.

Quality Control & Testing

Quality control focuses on the optical performance, connector end face, dimensional consistency, and assembly integrity of each production batch.
Typical inspection includes:

Insertion loss testing to verify connection loss against the specified acceptance limit.

Return loss testing for UPC/APC connector performance.

Connector end-face inspection to identify contamination, scratches, pits, or geometry defects before shipment.

Fiber continuity and polarity checks where applicable.

Dimensional inspection of pigtail length, jacket diameter, and connector configuration.

Visual and assembly inspection of connector housing, boot, fiber routing, and packaging.

Each shipment can be supplied according to the agreed product specification and inspection requirements.

FAQ

Q: Can I order samples before placing a bulk order?

A: Yes. Samples are available for specification and assembly verification before bulk production. Sample requirements should specify the connector, polishing type, fiber configuration, length, and quantity.

Q: Can different pigtail configurations be combined in one order?

A: Yes. Multiple configurations can be included in one purchase order, such as different connector types, lengths, or polishing requirements. Each configuration should be listed separately to avoid production and packing errors.

Q: How are pigtails packaged for international shipment?

A: Pigtails are normally bundled or individually protected and packed in cartons to prevent connector contamination, fiber bending, and mechanical damage during handling. Export packaging and labeling can be specified for bulk orders.

Q: What documents can be supplied with an order?

A: Typical commercial documentation includes the commercial invoice, packing list, and shipping documents. Inspection or test documentation can be provided when required by the purchase order or agreed quality specification.

Q: How do you ensure consistency between different production batches?

A: Production is controlled against the confirmed product specification and inspection criteria for each order. For repeat purchases, retaining the approved sample or specification as the reference helps maintain configuration consistency between batches.

Q: Can you support third-party inspection before shipment?

A: Yes. Third-party inspection can be arranged before shipment when required by the buyer. The inspection scope, sampling method, acceptance criteria, and inspection cost should be agreed before production or shipment.

Q: What information is needed to confirm compatibility with our equipment?

A: Provide the equipment or adapter interface, required connector configuration, fiber specification, and applicable optical requirements. For replacement or integration projects, photos, drawings, or an existing pigtail sample can help verify the required configuration before production.
