Mechanical Design & Cable Compatibility

The suspension clamp is designed to maintain the cable position while spreading the supporting force over the cable contact area. For configurations using preformed helical armor rods, the rods conform to the cable surface and distribute mechanical stress along a longer contact length, reducing localized loading on the outer sheath.

An EPDM or equivalent elastomer insert can provide additional cushioning and friction between the cable and clamp body. This is particularly important for aerial routes exposed to wind-induced movement and temperature changes.

Cable diameter must be matched to the specified clamp range. A clamp should not be selected solely by nominal cable type; the actual finished outer diameter and installation load should be checked against the model specification.

Applications

The suspension clamp is used for overhead fiber optic cable deployment in:

  • FTTH and FTTx aerial networks
  • ADSS access and backbone networks
  • Telecommunication lines on utility poles
  • Rural and urban broadband infrastructure
  • Campus, industrial park, and private communication networks
  • Power utility communication systems using compatible self-supporting fiber cable
  • Transportation and infrastructure communication routes

Installation Method

The clamp can be installed on poles, towers, or cross-arms using compatible pole bolts, stainless steel straps, J-hooks, U-shaped shackles, or dedicated mounting brackets, depending on the selected hardware configuration.

For standard suspension applications:

01/

Confirm the actual cable outside diameter and selected clamp range.

02/

Check the span, route angle, wind/ice loading, and required mechanical load.

03/

Position the cable correctly in the clamp body or preformed suspension assembly.

04/

Install the clamp on the designated pole, tower, or bracket.

05/

Tighten the mounting hardware according to the specified installation torque.

06/

Verify that the cable is securely supported without excessive compression, sheath deformation, or sharp bending.

Customization / OEM

OEM configurations are available according to cable diameter, cable construction, required span, mechanical load, armor-rod length, mounting interface, and installation structure.

Customization can also include:

  • Clamp body dimensions and geometry
  • Preformed rod length and material
  • Mounting brackets and hardware
  • Stainless-steel or galvanized components
  • Product markings and identification
  • Customer packaging and labeling

For RFQ evaluation, buyers should provide the cable type, actual outer diameter, typical span, maximum span, line angle, installation structure, and environmental conditions.

FAQ

Q: Can the suspension clamp be used for long-span ADSS installations?

A: Yes. Standard configurations are intended for ordinary aerial spans, while long-span ADSS installations may require reinforced or double suspension assemblies. The selection should be based on the maximum span and calculated environmental loading.

Q: Can you provide samples before a bulk order?

A: Yes. Samples can be arranged for dimensional, cable-fit, and installation evaluation before mass production. Sample charges and freight are normally confirmed according to the requested model and quantity.

Q: What standards can the suspension clamp comply with?

A: The applicable requirements depend on the cable system and destination market. IEC, EN, ASTM, and customer-specific technical specifications can be reviewed when applicable. The required standard or project specification should be stated before quotation.

Q: What packaging is used for bulk orders?

A: Standard products are typically packed in cartons with protective inner packaging, then placed on pallets when required for export handling. Customized carton marks, product labels, quantities, and packing methods are available for wholesale orders.

Q: What is the MOQ for suspension clamps?

A: A practical MOQ for standard commercial orders is 500 pieces per model. Mixed models or customized configurations can be discussed separately according to production requirements.

Q: What is the typical lead time for a bulk order?

A: For standard models, the typical processing time is 7–14 days after specification and order confirmation. Customized products may require additional tooling or production time, which will be confirmed before order placement.

Q: What payment terms do you accept?

A: We usually accept T/T, L/C, PayPal, and credit card. Other payment terms can be discussed according to order value, customer requirements, and cooperation conditions.

Q: Which shipping and export options are available?

A: Orders can be arranged by sea, air, or express delivery, depending on quantity, urgency, and destination. Common trade terms include EXW, DAP, and DDP, with the final shipping arrangement confirmed according to the order and destination.
