Fiber Optic Cable SC UPC Connector is a factory-assembled SC connector designed for single-mode fiber optic cable termination and interconnection. It uses a 2.5 mm ceramic ferrule and push-pull coupling structure for stable mating with compatible SC adapters. The standard configuration is suitable for 9/125 μm single-mode fiber and 2.0 mm cable, with other cable diameters and assembly configurations available for project requirements.

Connector Structure & Design
The connector consists of a zirconia ceramic ferrule, connector housing, alignment components, and strain-relief boot. The 2.5 mm ferrule provides the standardized SC mating interface, while the push-pull coupling mechanism enables straightforward installation and removal from SC adapters.
The UPC end face is polished to provide physical contact between mating fiber surfaces and control optical reflection. The connector housing protects the internal alignment structure, while the strain-relief boot reduces mechanical stress at the cable-to-connector transition.

Fiber & Cable Compatibility
The standard version is designed for 9/125 μm single-mode fiber, including OS2-type applications. For assemblies using bend-insensitive fiber, compatibility can also be specified according to the applicable ITU-T fiber category. ITU-T G.657 covers bending-loss-insensitive single-mode fiber and cable used particularly in access and high-density installations.
The connector should be selected according to the fiber mode, cable diameter, adapter interface, polish type, and application environment.
Applications

Telecommunication networks: Equipment interconnection, distribution frames, and transmission links
Ftth/fttx: Optical distribution and subscriber-side fiber connections
Data centers: Patching and equipment connectivity where sc interfaces are specified
Enterprise networks: Backbone and building-to-building fiber links
Catv and broadcast: Optical signal distribution and equipment interconnection
Industrial networks: Fiber connections in automation and communication systems where the environmental specification is suitable
The sc push-pull interface is particularly practical for applications requiring frequent connector installation and removal.
Customization / OEM
For OEM and project orders, the connector can be configured according to the requirements, including:
SC UPC simplex or duplex configuration
0.9 mm, 2.0 mm, 3.0 mm, or specified cable diameter
OS1/OS2 single-mode or specified multimode fiber
PVC, LSZH, or other specified cable jacket
Standard or customized cable length
Connector and boot color

For volume production, the applicable drawing, optical specifications, cable construction, tolerance requirements, and inspection criteria should be confirmed before mass production.
Inspection & Testing
Each production batch should be verified against the approved product specification before shipment. Key inspection items include:
End-face inspection: Contamination, scratches, chips, and polishing defects
Insertion loss testing: Verification against the specified maximum value
Return loss testing: Verification of upc back-reflection performance
Ferrule and dimensional inspection: Critical interface and assembly dimensions
Cable-to-connector assembly inspection: Boot, housing, crimping, and strain-relief condition
Mating/durability testing: Verification of connector performance after repeated mating where required
Environmental testing: Temperature or humidity testing when required by the project specification
For OEM orders, additional mechanical, environmental, or optical tests can be defined according to the customer's applicable specification or test standard. Connector interface dimensions should be controlled according to the applicable IEC 61754-4 SC family requirements.
FAQ
Q: Can you provide samples before a bulk order?
A: Yes. Samples can be provided for qualification before mass production. Sample specifications should be confirmed in advance, including connector configuration, fiber construction, cable length, and labeling requirements.
Q: What is the typical delivery time for bulk orders?
A: The order delivery time consists of 7–14 days for processing and 20–30 days for shipping. The actual arrival date depends on the destination, shipping method, and customs clearance. For urgent or large-volume orders, the delivery schedule should be confirmed before order placement.
Q: What shipping and delivery terms are available for international orders?
A: Orders can be shipped under EXW, DAP, or DDP terms, depending on the destination and order requirements. EXW is suitable when the buyer arranges transportation, while DAP/DDP can simplify door-to-door delivery. The applicable shipping method and Incoterm should be confirmed when requesting a quotation.
Q: How are SC UPC connector assemblies packaged for export?
A: Standard assemblies are packed in protective PE bags or cartons, with additional separation or cushioning used to prevent connector contamination, cable deformation, and mechanical damage during transportation.
Q: Can you provide documentation for quality inspection and incoming goods control?
A: Yes. Standard supply documentation can include product specifications, packing lists, and inspection records. Inspection reports, certificates of conformity, or other quality documents can be arranged when specified in the purchase order.
Q: Can SC UPC connectors be supplied for both patch cords and pigtail assemblies?
A: Yes. The connector can be supplied as part of pre-terminated fiber assemblies, including patch cord and pigtail configurations, provided the required cable construction and termination arrangement are confirmed before production.
Q: Can you supply SC APC instead of SC UPC?
A: SC APC is a different polish configuration and should not be substituted for SC UPC without confirming system requirements. If APC termination is required, it should be specified separately in the purchase order so the connector and mating interface are supplied as a compatible configuration.
Q: Can you support third-party inspection before shipment?
A: Yes. Third-party inspection can be arranged before shipment when required by the buyer or project. The inspection scope, sampling method, acceptance criteria, and inspection cost should be agreed before production or shipment.
